4 Suicides I Am Aware Of This Year, Why Elders, COs Are Not Competent To Handle These Matters. (Life Or Death, Your Choice!)
by AvocadoJake ini would like to relate with the first suicide that took place this year, this was more than seven months ago.
this person was deeply distraught and was talking about killing themself.
the conduct of this person started to escalate (deep depression with morbid thoughts.

I would also advise anyone still a JW and lurking here reading the forum ,to not trust your life or that of a loved one into the hands of the Elders . They are untrained men not prepared to give advice on medical and/or emotional problems .
Witnesses ,especially older ones start to believe these men are really something special because of the Watchtower propaganda . It just is not true. They don't know anymore than the average joe ,they do not have some closer link to God than anyone else .
The Elders and Co in the case stated above should be held accountable for this man's death .....They protray themselves as Shepards and guides yet did not even have the common sense to allow medical personel evaluate the situation ! I hope they lie awake at night feeling guilty and questioning their position over other human beings .
makes me ill . I also have been close to two people who commited suicide .In my opinion the screwed up beliefs of JWs were partially to blame for the depression these young people felt .Or at the very least exasperated the depression .

by juni ini was in the mood today... got the tree cheap (came w/lights), decorations and ribbon for half price and made the bow myself to save money.
i was going to put it aside until after thanksgiving, but couldn't resist completing the project.
i just have to get some fiber fill for "snow" at the base.

Talesin...that is shocking you have to wait so long ...I am so glad you have someone so kind to assist you .
Morbidzbaby....I always thought here was something wrong with me when I was a Witnees ,when all along it was just that I was raised in a cult ! It is so wonderful to know you are liked just for being yourself and not because you qualify as acceptable association because of some crazy religions checklist

I must share my recent experience . I was raised a witness until I left 6 yrs ago at 44 . I had lots of good aquantances ,but not one close to my bosom best friend . All our relationships had conditions upon them ,at least that was the case for my family .
When I faded six yrs ago I made it a point to reach out and make new friends . I found that people are open and accepting . One of my work mates has become my best friend .She has included me into her already established group of friends and they openly accepted me . Another friend which left the same congregation as me has introduced me to her husbands relatives and friends ,and once again I have been included into the group . It is so different to just be accepted for who you are and not judged .
With my recent surgery my friend came to the hospital with my husband and me ,she never left my side through the whole process ( I didn't have to ask she just knew how scared i was ) After the operation I had complications with the pain medication and stopped breathing she stayed by my side all night long in a recliner watching over me . I am 50 yrs old and have never experienced this kind of friendship and loyalty . It is amazing and you can believe she knows how much I value her kindness . She is always trying to get me to attend church with her ,but even though I refuse she continues to be my friend (A witness would never do that )
The other friends I have made have already been bringing food ,making plans to drive me to dr appointments ect ... I have never been treated so well in my life . As a witness I had three surgeries , and never did I have this kind of help .
So if you are lurking do not believe it when you hear how horrible your life will be with out the 'friends'.....it is not true .

Are you sure leaving the JW religion has made your life better?. Lurkers think twice
by mankkeli inon this forum, i have carefully read most of the experiences of those who left the jw religion, i have even read experiences that have dated back to 2001, i have read the different circumstances surrounding their exits and what ensued upon leaving.
for the majority, i observed they are better remainning in the religion than leaving.
what benefit is there to strain family relationship because you want to be free?, please tell me, of what value is that freedom?,.

I for one am absolutely positive leaving the Jehovah's Witness religion has made MY life BETTER !!! 100 %
The religion I was raised in and practiced for over 40 yrs .did not bring me the degree of happiness ,contentment and peace I now have . I am 50 yrs old and left the JW's only six yrs ago . I have a more open honest relationship now with my mate and children than ever before . As a witness relationships always seemed strained because of presumed 'christian values' over rode true human emotion and feelings . I now am free to accept people for who they are ,not what some publishing company says they should be in order to be my friend .
Are there difficulties to over come ? Of course there are . Is it worth the pain of losing some so called friends and family in order to gain personal freedom and integrity ??? Yes it is .
Life is better because I am now free to LIVE my life , no longer is my life dictated to me by a publishing company .
